Fender Blacktop Series $450 @ Music Zone !!!!!!

In today's uncertain economic times, it's difficult to find any type of solid deal, with plenty of bang for your buck.
That's why I can't even stop talking about the new Blacktop Series from Fender. These guitars have incredible quality for an amazingly low price. ( Yes, I know, I sound like an infomercial, but I'm speaking the truth here)
Popular features that were once only available on more expensive instruments or the type of details you'd have to get from the Fender Custom Shop are embedded on each of these guitars available from the Blacktop Series.
The Blacktop Tele on the left is just gorgeous, and I have been waiting for the day that I could afford an instrument like this one.
All models feature High-Gain Humbucking Pickups.
The Telecaster sports a pair of Hot Vintage Alnico Pickups with nickel covers, and a 3-position blade for switching pickups.
Master Volume & Master Tone pots to keep things simple is a proven formula that works on Telecasters and one reason why I
love them so much. Topping those volume/tone controls off with classic style skirted amp knobs reminiscent of early Fender tube amps, is just a nice touch to add the overall vibe of these guitars.

Look at this Stratocaster...If I could, I'd just frame this one and hang it in my studio.
Robin-Egg Blue with a 3-ply Mint/Black/Mint coloredpickguard and those amp knobs I previously mentioned, just screams awesome and classy at the same time.
Same pickups in the above Telecaster are also featured on this Stratocater, but with some clever tricks up it's sleeve for the 5-Position pickup selection switch.
Position 1, is the full double humbucking bridge pickup. Position 2, is the same pickup reduced to a single coil pickup.
Position 3, gets you in a sweet vintage tone spot with both full humbucking pickups. Postion 4, gets you back to a nice comfortable and soothing sound of a regular Stratocaster single coil pickup in the neck position (a' la Hendrix Red House/Wind Cries Mary) and then you guessed it, Position 5 puts you in even more buttery-toned goodness with the Double Humbucker in full double humbucking mode.

All of the Blacktop Series Fender guitars are made in Mexico, but that doesn't make them any less worthy of owning one, as I mentioned before (Mexican Fenders ) so I'll refrain from trying to convince of the build quality, skills and pride that the Mexican Luthiers take in building these beautiful instruments.
These are FENDER guitars, not the budget line (yet still bitchin') Fender Squier guitars...and as I had anticipated before Fender was going to do something big by recognizing the skill from the Mexico factory, so now they've earned the right to bear the name FENDER proudly and are setting the low-price field on fire with this series.
Music Zone right here in our hometown has the Blacktop Tele and Strat in stock for the same exact price all the online music retailers are offering it for, and that's not always easy for a family business to accomplish, so please go there and check one of these out in person and support our local economy.
Readers of this blog also get an additional 10% off of all musical accessories just by mentioning the blog, and the first reader that buys a Blacktop Series Fender from Music Zone, will receive a Fender Blue Pinup Girl Belt Buckle from me.
This one was popular years ago, and are hard to find now, they were $29.99 back in the day, but Fender sent me one to help promote the blog and to promote sales at independent music retailers.

Fender Left Hand Acoustic $159 at Unga Bunga Music (used)

Left Handed guitars aren't always easy to find, and for many Leftys it's always sad to be surrounded by all the eye-candy in guitar stores only to be disappointed there's nothing in stock for them, or if there is
it's a very sad selection of guitars.
This guitar is one of the best deals I've seen in town recently, and the price is exceptionally great on it for the guitar you're getting.
This is a Fender CD-100. The "CD" stands for "Classic Design"
The CD-100 is a "Dreadnought" style guitar, which lends itself to a bolder, richer, and louder tone. I can vouch for this guitar as I can do a few chords left-handed, and I was genuinely impressed with the tones emitted from this instrument, and the action on it was great for a dreadnought style guitar as many musicians never properly care for their instruments and acoustics are the first to suffer from neglect of care.
$159 is truly a great price for a Fender acoustic of this quality & Unga Bunga is another great independently owned family business.
Rusty & his wife Michelle have been in the music business in many aspects for as long as I can remember. Rusty is also an excellent musician (well, as long as you consider drummers musicians) so he takes great pride in the products he stocks and in owning a store. I cannot say enough great things about Unga Bunga Music & the Staff there.
Rusty also does a great Sammy Hagar impersonation.
Rob Wave guitars ( http://www.robwave.com/ ) handles all the guitar repairs there, and if you're in the market for a custom guitar you can visit and consult with him about building you a custom axe while you're there too.

You can find this guitar at: Unga Bunga Music, 848 Joe Clifton Dr, Paducah, KY. Tel:

$250 Squier Strat -Made In Mexico @ Music Zone

Some people like to disrespect Fender's line of guitars under the Squier moniker, but if you're an aspiring guitarist and not set in your ways yet, you should really check some of these out, and make your own judgements about them.

You will find some that just aren't great guitars, and others that you'll keep for a lifetime.

Fender has spread the Stratocaster/Telecaster type guitars out and various other models also.
There are at least three different Squier lines available which are made in Indonesia, Korea, & Japan...and very briefly Mexico.

The materials you find in the Mexican strats aren't as superior as you'd find in the American made or Custom Shop Stratocasters, but you can count on excellent attention paid to detail in the rare Mexican Squiers you might find, because chances are if that luthier will become the next guy making a Fender guitar you'll buy from the American Fender products line.

This fine guitar is available at Music Zone in Paducah 2825 Maryland Street in Lone Oak.
270-554-0964
Timothy & Brian are excellent luthiers also, and I highly recommend taking your stringed instruments of any type to them for repairs/adjustments/upgrades anytime you're considering having work done.
The entire staff there are top-notch and there's always a deal to be found there whether you're looking for strings, amplifiers or instruments.

Fender Sonoran's in stock at Broadway Music $279

Okay, not that I really want everyone to have the same guitar as I do, but Guitar Wayne at Broadway Music here in Paducah has these beauties for $279 .
These are Fender Sonorans, and they're harder to find in this selection of colors, many major online retailers show to offer these colors, but from my own personal experience I can tell you right now, the only colors you'll get anywhere online are the black or natural colored models.
The Fender Sonoran is an acoustic/electric guitar, that looks like a Stratocaster, and has the same slimline neck and headstock similar to most electrics.
Why more acoustic guitar manufacturers haven't caught onto this idea is beyond me, but these are easy to play, and you'll encounter less hand/finger fatigue when jamming away into the wee hours of the morning with a Fender Sonoran in your possession.
With an illustrious history dating back to '64 (these were briefly made back then) today's current Sonoran retains the vibe of the Sixties but has also been adapted with many modern features. The Sonoran has a lower cutaway for easier access to play leads, and has a built in EQ/volume control and 1/4 inch output that will have you ready to rock the coffee shop or hit the next Open Mic night with a quickness.
Even the rosette around the sound hole has a checkered design for a touch of flair and the pickguard isn't your standard edition tortoise shell pickguard, it's a vintage inspired design mother of pearl type material/finish that just adds to the overall appeal of this guitar. If you're looking for something besides your standard issue boring wood colored acoustic guitar and for a great price, come check one of these out. I can personally vouch for the playability of these right out of the box, as I arrived just in time to inspect and play each of these myself. These are only $279 at Broadway Music, and you'll pay $330 and upwards from the bad corporate guys, and only be able to get your hands on a Black or Natural finish from them.

Broadway Music is located at 308 Broadway look on the right side of Broadway, just before 3rd Street and you'll see this interesting store, or as I like to call it "Guitar Waynes Crazy Guitar Emporium"

The store really does deserve an outlandish name of that type. There are TONS and TONS of guitars around, and Wayne always has some great stories to tell about local guitar legends, and even some of the major players that have hailed from the Midwest to the deep South and have contributed in one way or another to recordings back in the days of Sam Phillips and Sun Records down in Memphis.
